When writing a letter, there is a certain format you need to follow. That means there are special parts that need to be in a letter, and you need to put those parts together in a particular way.

Here are the five parts of a letter.

Heading (optional): This part shows your return address and the date.

Greeting: This is how you say "hello." You might write "Dear [Name],"

Body: This is the most important part! You tell the person what's on your mind, like sharing news or stories.

Closing: A nice way to say goodbye, like "Best wishes" or "Sincerely."

Signature: Your name at the end, showing who wrote the letter.

Now, listen to I Wanna Iguana by Karen Kaufman, a book written in letters between a boy who wants an iguana and his mom. Enjoy!
